Management of the low-grade limestone resources in mines where limestone is extracted for cement production is not only costly but such material also occupies precious land. This project provides an innovative solution for converting low-grade resources into value-added products that can be utilized in concrete, a material consumed in bulk quantities. The viability of the low-grade limestone reserves in the different limestone mines in the country will be established in this project, which will lead to the identification of the best processing techniques to make the material usable as a mineral additive in binary and ternary cementitious systems.
