Prof. Warda Ashraf

Dr. Warda Ashraf is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas – Arlington. Before joining UT Arlington, she was a tenure-track assistant professor at the University of Maine. She received her Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2017. Her work on sustainable infrastructure materials led to Purdue’s College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Research Award. She has also received the DARPA Director’s Award in 2022, DARPA Young Faculty Award in 2020 and the ASCE ExCEEd (Excellence in Civil Engineering Education) Teaching Fellowship in 2019. Dr. Ashraf secured research funding from several federal and state agencies, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Her research interest includes durability performances of concrete, multiscale characterization, and development of sustainable infrastructure materials.
